Glory Days "Key Party" Poster Added to the Site

As I keep filling out the site, I’m gonna keep reminiscing, this time about the GLORY DAYS KEY PARTY. This was a show my team Glory Days used to host back in… 2014? 2015?… where a bunch of other improv teams would show up and we’d mix and match members to put on a show.

It was a ton of fun when you were starting out in comedy in NYC, and a great way to meet your peers. The shows were a blast but the parties afterward will echo through the halls of Valhalla forever.

Was the candle too on-the-nose?

As for the poster, this was bang-on typical for what I was doing at the time. Cooper was the font of choice for Glory Days, and I still stand by Cooper as the greatest comedy font of all time. “Seductive” imagery in the background and risqué copywriting (“a one-night stand”) as a cheeky tie in to the “Key Party” motif.

For the stock photo in the background I made kind of a lens correction behind the title font to kind of give it that weird surreal horror feeling you get in movies like Rosemary’s Baby. I wanted this poster to be a little bit eerie, a little creepy, to put an air of danger and excitement around it.

I also fucked up the halftoning really badly. Way too aggressive. Just fucked it up real good.

You live and you learn.
